At Kaashi Labs (“we”, “our”, or “us”), we deeply respect your personal privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Bhagavat Gita Kavya mobile application (the “App”) available on Google Play.

Our core philosophy is simple: we believe spiritual study should be private, peaceful, and unmonitored. We do not require user accounts, passwords, or personal profile registrations. You can freely explore all 700 sacred shlokas, translations, and audio chanting without ever providing your identity.

2. Information We Do Not Collect (Zero PII)

Kaashi Labs does not collect, harvest, store, or sell any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from our users. Specifically, we do NOT collect:

• Your name, email address, postal address, or telephone number.
• Your account credentials, passwords, or social media logins.
• Your contacts, phonebook, SMS messages, or call logs.
• Your camera, microphone recordings, or private device photos.
• Your biometric data or health data.
• Precise GPS location data.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To ensure a seamless, stateful experience across reading sessions, the App saves certain functional preferences locally in your device’s isolated sandboxed storage (via React Native AsyncStorage):

• Reading Progress: Last viewed chapter and verse number.
• Personal Bookmarks & Favorites: Verses you have marked for reflection or chanting.
• Audio Preferences: Preferred recitation language track (Sanskrit, Hindi, English), playback rate, and continuous playback preferences.
• App Theme & Typography: Preferred display mode (Sattvic Light, Cosmic Dark, Temple Ochre) and script font preferences.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

To keep Bhagavat Gita Kavya free and accessible to all spiritual seekers while sustaining cloud audio streaming infrastructure, the App integrates the following reputable third-party SDK:

Google AdMob (Google Play Services)

We use Google AdMob to display occasional banner and interstitial advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and process certain non-personal device information to serve relevant ads and prevent click fraud, including:

• Google Advertising ID (GAID / AAID) (which can be reset anytime in Android Settings).
• Coarse location inferred from IP address (e.g., country or city level).
• Device identifiers, operating system version, carrier, and device manufacturer.
• Interaction data (ad impressions, clicks, diagnostic crash reports).

5. In-App Purchases & Monetization

If you choose to purchase the optional Premium version of Bhagavat Gita Kavya to remove advertisements or unlock additional features, the transaction is processed entirely and securely by Google Play Billing.

Kaashi Labs never receives, accesses, or stores your credit card details, bank information, or billing address. Your purchase entitlement is linked directly to your Google Account by Google Play, allowing you to restore your purchase on any compatible device at any time.

6. Content Delivery & Streaming Network

High-fidelity shloka audio recitations are securely streamed on demand via Cloudflare R2 and Cloudflare Workers.

When your device requests an audio file (e.g., Sanskrit chant for Chapter 2, Verse 47), Cloudflare automatically receives standard HTTP network request headers (your IP address, HTTP user-agent, and requested file path) solely to deliver the media stream, apply edge caching, and protect the network against distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.

No audio listening habits, user profiles, or identifying records are logged or maintained by Cloudflare or Kaashi Labs. Learn more at the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

7. Device Permissions

Bhagavat Gita Kavya requests only the minimal system permissions essential for its core functionality:

• android.permission.INTERNET: Required to stream audio shlokas from our Cloudflare CDN and retrieve advertisements from Google AdMob.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Enables the App to gracefully detect if your device is offline and inform you if an audio chant cannot be streamed.
• android.permission.WAKE_LOCK: Ensures continuous recitation when listening to chants with your screen dimmed.

The App does not request camera, contact list, microphone, SMS, phone call, or background location permissions.

8. Children's Privacy

Bhagavat Gita Kavya is an educational, philosophical, and spiritual application suitable for audiences of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has inadvertently provided personal data through a third-party SDK, please contact us immediately so we can coordinate appropriate remediation.

9. User Rights & Data Deletion

Because we do not maintain user accounts or store personal information on our servers, you hold 100% control over your data directly on your hardware:

• Reset All Data: Open Android Settings > Apps > Bhagavat Gita Kavya > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data to erase all stored favorites, themes, and reading progress.
• Reset Advertising ID: Open Android Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads.
• Uninstall: Removing the app immediately and irrevocably deletes all app-related sandbox data from your device.

10. Data Security

We are dedicated to safeguarding your experience. All network communications between the mobile application, Cloudflare Edge Gateway, and third-party ad networks utilize industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption) to prevent eavesdropping and tampering.

11. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Any revisions will be posted on this URL with an updated “Effective Date”. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
